Alien Hominid is an action-packed side-scrolling shooter that draws inspiration from games like Metal Slug, featuring a challenging gameplay style where a single hit spells instant demise and offers two-player simultaneous play. In the game, players assume control of the titular hominid, tasked with defending against relentless waves of secret agents. Armed primarily with a blaster, the hominid can engage enemies from a distance, while also resorting to melee combat when foes draw near. Additionally, players have access to a limited supply of grenades for explosive assaults. The game introduces advanced maneuvers such as rolling to evade enemy fire, leaping onto adversaries to deliver lethal bites, momentarily intimidating nearby enemies, and even burrowing underground to ensnare unsuspecting foes.
